The Wyckoff midwives have been serving the community,
providing high quality care to patients for over eleven years.
There is a midwife available at the Women's Health Center to meet your
prenatal care needs every day of the week. Patients can choose to
have a Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) provide all their routine
gynecological and obstetric care. During pregnancy and delivery, you
will be cared for by a caring and compassionate midwife, who will also
follow your postpartum course until you are discharged from the
hospital. Midwives work closely in collaboration with Ob/Gyn
physicians in a supportive environment. For more information, please
call (718) 963-7624.
The midwives also offer free childbirth
classes at the Women's Health
Center to all Wyckoff prenatal patients. Six classes complete the
full cycle of classes. Patients and their partners do not have to
wait for the beginning of a cycle to start the classes and are welcome to
repeat any or all sessions as often as they choose. Information
given during the childbirth classes includes hospital policies and
expectations, stages of labor, signs of labor, complications in pregnancy
and labor, review of danger signs, infant care, breastfeeding, C-Section,
the postpartum period, family planning, sexuality, breathing techniques
and much more. The last class in the cycle includes a tour of the
hospital's Labor & Delivery unit.
Copies of the childbirth education curriculum are available upon request.
To register, please call (718) 963-7624 and leave a message,
or for more information call our Women's Health Center at (718)
