Mission Statement:
Peri-Op Services Supports the hospital’s mission statement: to provide excellence in care through prevention, education, and treatment in a safe environment. The goal of the Peri-Op Services is to continually improve that efficiency and quality of care, utilizing a strategy of constant needs assessment in such areas as prevention, patient satisfaction and adoption of best clinical and administrative practices.
Peri-Op Services: consist of the 7 operating rooms, Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), Ambulatory Surgery Unit (ASU); all located on the 4th floor A building and the 3-room Endoscopy Suite located on the 10th floor B building and Central Sterile located on the C level, B building.
Scope/Complexity/Types of Patients Served: Peri-Op Services includes peri-operative, Intra-operative Surgical and Recovery Services for inpatients and ambulatory patients, ranging in ages from neonatal to geriatric.
Patient’s Health Status: Patient health status range from healthy with pre-existing conditions, to acute, stable, critical care patients. Patient care needs also include Physiological, Psychological and Spiritual Support.

All aspects of care are provided by attending Physicians, Anesthesia staff and nursing staff. Patients are assessed pre-operatively, intra-operatively, and post-operatively. A plan of care is initiated and documented.

Availability of staff: The O.R. and PACU are covered 24 hrs/day/7 days per week. Weekends and holidays are covered by 2 personnel on-call.
